The Environmental Educational Center (CEAM) is 350 thousand square meters large, located inside ArcelorMittal Tubarão, destined to the development of environmental education activities, sheltering a large part of our native Mata Atlântica fauna.
The flora is also well represented by species of native, exotic, fruitful and bushy trees. Besides the physical infrastructure, CEAM counts on a multidisciplinary team of professionals and a systematic program of qualification and knowledge recycling. It was built because of a demand from Programa Interagir de Educação Ambiental (literally, Interaction Program of Environmental Education), addressed to employees of ArcelorMittal Tubarão, and from Environmental Communication Program developed with schools and colleges in Vitória's Metropolitan Area. It was launched on December 10th, 1998.
ArcelorMittal Tubarão Environmental Educational Center annually hosts about 40.000 participants of programs and events with the internal and external public, who have the opportunity to live educational activities which contribute to environmental awareness, through: students´ and teachers supervised visits, who learn in practice ArcelorMittal Tubarão Environmental Management; courses and workshops for teachers; meetings and seminars; besides being acknowledged as a classroom, providing living and learning moments for all visitors. CEAM´s infrastructure still works as a stage of several corporate events for both internal and external publics, promoted by ArcelorMittal Tubarão throughout the year.
