Why is there a strong smell sometimes?

The direction and strength of the winds can carry the smell produced in the coke production process beyond our limits. Our environmental control system is prepared to prevent that. However, if you notice anything, let us know through Talk to Us.
Why are the stacks of the company releasing dust into the atmosphere?

The stacks at ArcelorMittal Tubarão have a monitoring system to measure and assess the material released into the atmosphere 24 hours a day, every day. This system helps us to maintain the level of emissions within standards. When any alteration occurs, a specialized team will check what the problem is and try to solve it as soon as possible. Because of this maintenance system we have registered only small occurrences, none of them relevant.

Why has the volume of dust increased in my house?

There are several reasons for the increase in the volume of dust in a certain area of the city.

In the dry periods and in the summer, the lack of humidity can provoke more dust concentration in the atmosphere. In general, the dust is produced by the slash and burn process, civil works, roads maintenance, vehicles and industrial activities.

Our atmospheric emission control system has as a priority to prevent that the materials used in the industrial process increase the volume of dust in the atmosphere in Vitoria Metropolitan Area.
